Breaking News: I came across a great post today that poses the following question:

What if…people were allowed no more space than an animal in industrial farming (for example, a pig), and all were crammed into one place - how much space would they need?

The answer? 5460 square kilometers.

The author, Hans J. posted the image above to his Google+ account and shared out a Google spreadsheet with both his calculations and some landmark-based perspective. You can see his post here and his spreadsheet here.
