Vegan Doughnut Shop to Open this Month in Philly!
A day after Valentine’s Day, on February 15, vegans in west Philadelphia will have another reason to celebrate and indulge, and that is the official opening of the Dottie’s Donuts shop!
The vegan doughnut company was founded about two years ago by Jeff Poleon and Matt Quinn, and focused on distributing their delicious goodies to local cafes and shops. Their doughnuts include mouth-watering flavors such as milk-chocolate strawberry, black sesame matcha, chocolate-salted pistachio, s’mores, thin mint, blueberry coconut cream, toasted marshmallow, chipotle chocolate and more. Already a local favorite for those who have had the pleasure of trying them, the company announced their plans to open a brick-and-mortar shop at 4531 Springfield Avenue in West Philadelphia.
The shop will include 12 rotating doughnut flavors to choose from, but will be so much more than just a doughnut shop-although that would have been fine too! It will also offer bagels, a variety of vegan cream cheeses, and coffee. Since the new location will have a commercial kitchen, on top of supplying customers with these treats, Poleon and Quinn also plan to eventually expand and include some vegan lunch options to the menu as well.
The shop will be able to seat approximately a dozen people, and for all those who can’t make to the official opening or live too far away, keep in mind that Dottie’s Donuts will still continue supplying their usual shops and cafes with their doughnuts as well!
For those of us who live nowhere near Philadelphia…well, the flavors alone may just be enough to encourage a visit!
