Kat Von D to Donate Sales of Red Lipstick to Chimp Rehabilitation!
Kat Von D impressed cruelty-free and vegan shoppers everywhere when she announced that she was reformulating her entire line of Kat Von D Beauty products to be entirely vegan.
Now, there’s another reason to buy your favorite shade of red lipstick from the Inked star. According to Bustle, Project Chimps, which is a “matte, orange x red Everlasting Liquid Lipstick” will serve as a limited edition “charity shade” with proceeds going directly to Project Chimps, a sanctuary focused on rescuing and rehabilitating chimpanzees from testing laboratories. On her Instagram, Von D models the striking color and states:
“Introducing my new favourite shade of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick: #ProjectChimps. In an effort to promote #crueltyfree beauty and raise awareness, proceeds will benefit @ProjectChimps. I’m excited for everyone to wear this shade and celebrate compassion with me! [yes, this formula is #vegan and #crueltyfree. Yes this will be limited edition.]”
Von D had been volunteering with the sanctuary in Georgia and hopes that the proceeds will help the center prepare for 300 rescued chimpanzees that will “experience a life of freedom after decades of testing.”
