Alan Cumming Reveals Health Benefits of a Vegan Diet [VIDEO]
Alan Cumming recently joined People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in a campaign asking Dairy Queen to include vegan options in their menu. Now, the actor and author has taken time out from his ‘Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs’ tour in order to film a video with PETA about the impact veganism has had on his own personal health.
In the video, PETA and Cumming celebrate the fact that Edinburgh has just been voted the most vegan-friendly city in the United Kingdom, and Cumming states:
“I have been vegan for I think about 7 or 8 years…my skin cleared up. I used to have rosacea. My voice, you know, I would kind of have mucus things going on. And that’s all to do with dairy. I feel much better. I feel I’ve got more energy. I feel cleaner. I feel younger.”
He also talks about the impacts the meat industry has on the environment, and states that most restaurants today are happy to accommodate a vegan diet, making it easier than ever. On encouraging others to adopt a plant-based lifestyle, Cumming states, “I really think you’ll feel the benefit in your body and in your outlook to life…give it a go!” You can watch the full video below:
