Vegan Weightlifting Champion Sets New Record in Iceland!
Iceland Monitor has just reported that vegan weightlifting champion Hulda B. Waage set a new record in Iceland this past weekend. During the championship, Waage lifted 205 kilos in a deadlift, which according to the weightlifter, was not representative of her best:
“I was pretty stressed out. I’m really happy but I could have done better. This is not the largest success of my life it was just part of the programme.”
Waage’s routine includes training “twice a week five times a week and once per day once a week,” and she credits her plant-based diet for her strength as well. She states:
“You can be strong without eating meat and animal byproducts. I’ve reached the age when the body produces more swelling. I believe my diet helps with this and I recover more quickly after practices.”
Other powerful and record-breaking vegans include Germany’s strongman Patrik Baboumian, Kendrick Farris of the United States, KJ Joseph of India, and Matthew Jones of the United Kingdom!
