Expo West 2017: 30+ Exciting New Vegan Products Unveiled!
Not all of us were able to make it out to Natural Products Expo West-the world’s largest natural food expo-in Anaheim, California this past weekend (sigh), but that doesn’t mean we can’t share in on the excitement for the many new vegan products that were unveiled!
We are featuring 10 companies that are (all together) releasing over 30 new products, which made their debut during Expo West. Check out our list right here and join in on the excitement!
1- Field Roast
Vegan food company Field Roast took the cake this year when it announced that 10 new products would be introduced at the expo this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary:
“We have four new products from our CHAO Creamery line: Creamy Mac n Chao, Chili Mac n Chao, Chao Mayo, and Chao Butter. We will also be rotating three new Seasonal Sausages: Bratwurst, Lil’ Smokies and Hawaiian. Last but not least, we are also launching three new frozen snack items: Fruffalo Wings, Sunflower Katsu Cutlet and Miniature Corn Dogs.”
Talk about an unveiling-we can’t wait to try these new products!
2- Follow Your Heart
Follow Your Heart made us really wish we had made it out to Expo West as three new products were presented: Dairy-Free Yogurt, Liquid VeganEgg and Rocket Cakes Pancake & Waffle Batter!
We can’t wait to find these convenient and delicious-sounding products-and mix and match them with other staple Follow Your Heart products!
3- Tofurky
Tofurky’s president and CEO Jaime Athos presented the company’s new DIY Burgers and Ham-Style Roast at Expo West, and I’m already planning out barbecue season as a result.
The DIY Burgers are a “formable ground beef style-but vegan, plant-based protein” for a really “familiar hamburger experience,” and the Ham-Style Roast has a beer-based glaze and is set to be made available by Easter!
4- Daiya Foods
Daiya introduced a new ready-to-serve three-pack Deluxe Cheeze Sauce-in both cheddar and alfredo, as well as Cutting Board Collection Shreds-which seem to melt like a dream!
The brand also introduced new American Style Slices and a Garden Vegetable Cream Cheeze Style Spread, adding even more variety to its impressive dairy-free cheese line.
5- Miyoko’s Kitchen
We continue with the plant-based vegan cheese roll with Miyoko’s Kitchen, that had a special treat for guests-a brand new Smoked VeganMozz!
The smoked vegan mozzarella will be available in retail shops by June, but those who cannot wait can buy it on Miyoko’s online shop.
6- Upton’s Naturals
Vegan natural foods producer Upton’s Naturals launched eight new products at the show-and announced it live on Facebook for those of us who couldn’t be there!
The products we can all get very excited about include four shelf-stable Thai meals (ready in one minute!), two new flavors of jackfruit-Sweet and Spicy and Sriracha, and Ch’eesy Mac and Ch’eesy Bacon Mac-ready in one minute as well, with cheese sauce included rather than powder.
Bonus: Upton’s Naturals is also making its way over to Canada!
7- Thrive Tribe
Thrive Tribe, a company that makes “treats for anyone on a paleo, grain-free, gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free or good-for-you diet,” debuted their brand new Paleo Snack Bars at Expo West!
The bars come in Dark Espresso, Chocolate Almond, Cranberry Cashew, and Apricot Pecan and will be made available on Amazon soon. Thrive Tribe also participates in 1% For The Planet making their products all the more sweeter!
8- Millie’s Vegan Gelato
Known for plant-based, organic, mostly raw and minimal ingredients, Millie’s Gelato promised to debut a new flavor at Expo West: Strawberry Coconut Creme!
Free of nuts, fillers, gums, and made with just six ingredients, it’s no wonder this new gelato flavor was an Editor’s Pick during the weekend!
9- Lightlife Foods
Plant-based meat substitute company Lightlife Foods debuted its ready-made pastas during Expo West, which should be made available to the public soon.
The two options displayed include Wild Mushroom Ravioli and Veggie Sausage Ravioli-packed with 14-18 grams of protein!
10- MadeGood Foods
MadeGoods Foods, a Canadian company that creates allergy-friendly, vegan, and nutrient-rich granola snacks, had a surprise up its sleeve this past weekend: Crispy Squares!
The Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Crispy Squares are described as “the delicious, good for you, healthier rice treat alternative parents and kids have been waiting for.”

And with that our list comes to an end! We are so excited to start seeing some of these many delicious vegan products around, and can’t wait to see what Expo West 2018 brings!
