Costco Eggs - We Have a Problem

Casual shoppers are not often faced with how international wholesalers like Costco make/obtain their products: From clothing to foods, there’s a chain of supply and demand. When a supplier takes on an agreement with Costco, they’re faced with pretty vast output requirements in order to meet quotas (Costco is, after all, a wholesaler - it’s even in the name, “Costco Wholesale” - and they’re everywhere). The Humane Society of the United States recently revealed a problem with this model - egg production with one supplier points to deceptive marketing tactics coupled with extremely disturbing conditions for caged laying hens, and are calling for Costco to remedy this as soon as possible.
